Gallow Green above Sleep No More

I couldn't resist immediately making a reservation for Gallow Green the day after receiving the invitation above from the McKittrick Hotel. I opted for 8pm on Friday night. Upon walking into the rooftop bar it felt like walking into a secret garden where the hostessess have names such as Firefly and Clover and the mixologists and staff all have a 1930's 1940's vibe to them. A DJ plays a mix of lounge-y relaxed music. It is a really pretty and romantic place; great for a date. Making a reservation requires a $20 advance purchase and is applied towards your tab. Drinks are priced at about $14 each. The house cocktail list includes "Damned Spot" and "Third Degree". They also offer a variety of punches for 2, 4, and 6 people. Click here to view pictures of Gallow Green. Located at 542 West 27th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues.

The Library at the Hudson Hotel

The Hudson Hotel does not cease to impress it has so many cool places to hang out in; The Hudson Bar, The Private Park, the Library, amongst others.  This past Wednesday after going from meeting to meeting and then bar to bar we ended up at the Hudson's Library.  It is the perfect place to go when you just want to hang out in an uber cool spot with an antique pool table, lounge area, fireplace, and life-size prints of cows in hats (royal wedding style) oh yes, it also has a bar.

Beauty and Essex

Tonight I dined at Beauty and Essex.  I have been fan of Stanton Social for years and upon hearing of this new restaurant in the Lower East Side I was very excited. Chris Santos has outdone himself.  The menu is composed of small plates; perfect for sharing.  Great place to go on a date.  To find a date; I suggest you go if you are a guy. While checking out who was there it seemed like every single girl in NYC was there in her best downtown-chic garb.  The decor is luxurious with chandeliers at very turn, and just when you think it can't get any better you are handed a complimentary glass of champagne in the wash room. Stop by the lounge upstairs before or after dinner, very cool.
